In my younger days, I worked for the Village of New Berlin Department of Public Works during the summer months. Though I grew up in the neighboring township of Pittsfield, I’ve been a Village of New Berlin resident since 1998. In the year 2000, I became a Village Trustee filling the role of Youth Commissioner.

Currently, I am the senior trustee on the Village Board with my commission being the DPW and Water Dept. I also sit on the Board of Directors for Opportunities for Chenango, with committee seats at Head Start and Quantra Housing. I have been a Village resident for 20 years. I was appointed to the Village Board as a Village Trustee by the Mayor in 2005.

The Village of New Berlin has a special place in my heart. It is the place where I was raised, as the youngest of three children by Beverly and the late Charlie Carpenter. I have solid memories of the many people here that gave so much of themselves to provide myself and others’ strong foundations to grow on. I am truly humbled to be asked by our Mayor and the Village Board Members to join them as a member and Trustee. I moved to the Village of New Berlin twenty five years ago. I have two sons and two daughters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I was a Village Trustee from 1994 to 1995 and Village Mayor for fourteen years after that. I truly enjoyed my time on the Village Board and during that time we accomplished many important projects for the betterment of the village. I look forward to working with our new Mayor Terry Potter and I am honored that he asked me to be a member of his board.
Village Clerk Treasurer:
Diann Davisson
I have been the Village Clerk Treasurer for the Village since December 1977. I am a native of New Berlin. In addition to my duties as Clerk Treasurer, I also serve as Registrar and Community Development Loan Administrator for the Village. I have been designated by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) as a CMC (Certified Municipal Clerk).
